Research InterestsThe peripheral nervous system (PNS) serves as the sensory input apparatus which relays information from the external environment and physiological status to the central nervous system
for further processing and integration. I am interested in elucidating the cell biological basis of the precise patterning and cell fate determination of the PNS. Together with Hillary Andrews and
Nikolaos Giagtzoglou, we performed a forward genetic screen to identify novel genes involved in the development of the adult mechanosensory organ. Mapping and phenotypic characterization of mutants
from the screen is underway to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying PNS development.
