Research Interests

I am interested in understanding the mechanisms of cell fate determination. One convenient and well studied system is the Drosophila peripheral nervous system which we have adopted as our model for this process. In order to further this goal, we have attempted to identify novel genes that affect bristle development, using a quantitative trait analysis. We have identified several new mutants which we are currently characterizing.
