Research InterestsMy interests revolve around Electron Microscopy and the support of our researchers, post docs, graduate students, and other collaborators. I help everyone with their samples from dissection, tissue processing and embedding, sectioning and TEM examination. I have had the opportunity to work on a wide diversity of specimens in my career from plants, mammals, fish, reptiles, and now insects. Manipulating Drosophila melanogaster is a bit challenging from an EM point of view, but is so indispensible for genomic research in Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer’s, and other debilitating diseases. My curriculum includes University of the Pacific Pre-Pharmacy program and San Joaquin Delta Microscopy Technology Center. I have set up microscopy labs for both NASA Ames Research Center in California, and for Boston Scientific/ Target Therapeutics. My experience includes Transmission and Scanning Electron Microscopy, and Energy Dispersive Spectrometry, for both biological and materials microscopy. |
