Research Interests
I am interested in the signaling mechanisms that govern the development and function of the nervous system.
Therefore, I have participated in a large scale forward genetic screen designed to isolate novel mutations in External Sensory Organ formation. We are currently
examining the role of these mutations in the Notch signaling pathway.
In parallel, I am fascinated by the dynamic nature of synapses. Similarly to the aforementioned approach, I study whether mutations that have been isolated by
large scale clonal genetic screens, conducted in the visual system of Drosophila, affect the formation and/or the function of the larval neuromuscular junction.
